O my forest

Photo installation about cvilisational dissonances

The setting is a small forest in the agglomeration. Just right for dogs and their two-legged friends, for runners and forest bathers. The paths are well-kept and passable with prams. Rarely does a biker appear. There are no wolves or bears yet.
As autumn approaches, the day inevitably comes when orange markings suddenly light up on a great many trunks. It almost seems as if there are more every year. I swallow empty and stumble, looking at the trees whose growth will soon be topped. In my mind I pester the forester with questions. Why this one in particular? And this one? - Yes, there's not enough light here, you have to give the young trees a chance. - And that one is a safety risk for you, one day it might even kill you! - And no, lots of ivy on the tree is no reason.
In winter the time has come. Behind red and white barrier tapes, the annual forest maintenance begins. The harvesting machine drives in on thick caterpillars and everything happens very quickly. The tree is gripped, sawn off at the bottom and automatically lopped off. The branches are left lying around because there is probably not yet a machine to pick them up.
